Thursday Thirteen - #5

I came across Laura's "I'm an Organizing Junkie" blog yesterday and it got me to thinking about my organizing and such. While my family thinks I like organizing too much, I'm rather proud of the fact that while they can hunt and search all day long and won't find things, I can pretty much put my finger on it.
However, I have to admit I've been a little slack in that area lately. So I have decided to make me a "To Do" list as my "Thursday Thirteen".

1. Get my Mary Kay area/office totally organized!

2. Clean out my office supply cabinet.

3. Organize my photos....again!

5. Paint guest room.

6. "Help" my husband organize his tools.

7. "Help" my husband clean out the garage.

8. Clean out music studio.

9. Paint kitchen.

10. Purchase new blinds for kitchen and dining room.

11. Paint living room.

Frustration

Am I the only one being frustrated by blogger.

For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to post pictures and can't get them to upload.

I should explain that I have been successful in getting 4 pictures in one of my posts, but I can't get anymore to go through.

I have tried different computers....no success.
I have tried creating new posts and uploading pictures first then adding text.....no success.
I have tried uploading, waiting 30 minutes hoping it will appear after the fact.....no success.
I have tried different pictures.......no success.
I have tried making them even smaller than they were.......no success.

I just don't know what else to do.

I see that Bev has posted pictures of her new grandson, Landon.

I noticed that BooMama has posted Crumpy McCryson pictures.

And even Sarah has pictures of her new nephew, Landon.

So this tells me it must not be just blogger having trouble. A couple of times when I tried creating a new post and putting in the pictures first, nothing would appear, and then when I clicked on "sign-out", the picture info would appear but not in enough time that I could click on "stop".

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to check, try, etc. to see if I can't get this fixed? Or maybe even a suggestion for a different blog site.

Thanks

FRIDAY'S FEAST - One Hundred & Eight

Appetizer - If you could have a free subscription to any magazine, which one would you like to have?

I use to have subscriptions to several, At Home in Arkansas, Guideposts, Southern Living, Country, Better Homes & Gardens, Traditional Home, Country Living, House Beautiful, Taste of Home, and so on. But I discontinued all of them except Guideposts because I don't have the time to read them and they would just pile up. I still have some in a basket from 2 years ago that I haven't read.

Soup - Describe your living room (furnishings, colors, etc.).

You would think with all the decorating magazines I would have a living room masterpiece. But the truth is I just have a collection of "used" furniture. First of all we have a "used" 32" tv that our daughter and son-in-law gave us because they got tired of watching our 13" that we stuck in the living room because we seldom watch tv in there. (It came from his parents when they got a big screen tv.) I had purchased a new sofa and wing-back chair in 1993, so it's "used" now. There is a neutral color recliner (used) there that belonged to my daughter-in-law and she had brought it in when Ethan was born to rock him in. There is a hide-a-bed (used) that belonged to my mother when she passed away. The couch's are in the shades of hunter green, navy blues and burgundy. The end-tables (used) also belonged to my mother. I have my great-grandmother's old secretary desk, "used". And a lot of toys, "used".

Salad - What does the shape of a circle make you think of?

Pie........or cake! Well we are talking about a "feast" here! Seriously it makes me think of "Full Circle of Success" (it's a Mary Kay thing). That........and smiley faces!

Main Course - Name 3 things in your life that you consider to be absolute necessities.

God, family, and chocolate.

Dessert - What was the last really funny movie you watched?

It wasn't a movie but we saw Steve Harvey at T.D. Jakes Megafest on tv (the 32" one) the other night. Don't go to the movies very often.

1. He loves the Lord!

2. His blue eyes!

3. His George Strait smile.

4. He is sooo patient.

6. I love to hear him talk.....his voice....his Southern accent. ( I use to call home knowing the answering machine would pick up just so I could hear his voice. My kids always laughed at me.)

7. I don't think he has ever raised his voice at me (really).

8. I love to him hear sing.

9. He likes to help others.

10. He supports me in whatever I want to do.

My First Tag - A Novel Idea

Well today I have been tagged by Brenda. I was so excited as this was my first one and wondered what it was going to be for. I thought to myself, "Oh what neat questions am I going to get to answer","Oh I hope its not for a tip of some sort, I can't remember those long enough to use them myself","or "maybe it's for some type of recipe, I can do recipes". Of all the things to be tagged for, this was the meme:

If you could write a novel about any subject, what would it be?
(Just the subject–don’t give away your plot idea!)

I'm hear to tell you that I am definitely not a writer.........but if I could I'm sure it would be a love story.

I do like to read though. Although I'm more of a realist, and would rather hear about how God has worked in your life. It blesses my soul!

I hope I haven't disappointed Brenda, but that's just who I am.

Part of this meme was to tag 5 people, so I have chosen Lauren (by the way thanks for all your help), Bev, BooMama, (can't wait to hear your idea), Chappyswife and Linda. For all the information check out Violet Voices.

I Wonder......

I Wonder if anyone has tried the "NEW Blogger in Beta"? Is it easier to use?

I wondered yesterday, as I was taking clothes out of the dryer.... How can I wash and dry clothes sooooo many times, dispose of all this lint and still have a garment! It just seems like eventually there wouldn't be any thread left.

WHO decides where to put the toilet paper holder in public restrooms? Have they ever considered sitting on the commode to see what would be convenient. I mean sometimes you feel like you have to stand on your head to get a hold of the paper because they are located so low, other times your banging your head on them and there is still empty space on the other side, but within reach. I just can't figure out their theory for placement!

Why would they make a vacumn cleaner without that round attachment with brushes on it to get along the walls with. You know the one you can get cobwebs off the ceiling, down the corners and run along the baseboards. A few years ago I purchased a name-brand vacumn cleaner from a name brand store. I guess I just never thought to check out all the attachments. I mean, why would they NOT have this attachment. So everytime I want to clean along the ceilings, etc. I have to use just the wand and be really careful or I will stratch the wall with the edge of the wand.

While I was writing this post I received a phone call from my daughter-in-law that she was on her way to take Ethan, my 3-year-old grandson to an ENT because he shoved rocks up his nose, and since he had previously had sinus surgery and ear tubes the regular doctor wanted the ENT to check it out. So I have to ask myself "Why would he shove rocks up his nose?"

Attitude

My friend, Nita, from Florida shared this with me today.

There was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head! "Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today. So she did and she had a wonderful day!

The next day when she woke up, she looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head! "H-M-M, " she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."! So she did and she had a grand day!

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head! "Well," she said, "Today, I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did, and she had a fun, fun day!

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head! "YAY!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING! Have a Good Day! Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Thursday Thirteen - 3

Thirteen Things I Don't Like

1…. A computer that isn't working properly! My son has been working on mine for 3 days now and still can't figure out what's wrong. (But he will, that I'm certain of)

2.... Windshield wipers that have the rubber barely hanging on and so they make that screeching noise.

3.... Peas

4.... Mosquitoes

5.... People who aren't honest

6.... When the button on the side of my cell phone gets bumped, causing it to go into "Silent Mode"!

7.... More than 3 inches of snow lasting more than 24 hours.

8.... An unmade bed. (Sorry, it's just one of my quirks)

9.... Being disorganized!!

10.. Being more than one state away from my grandkids.

11.. Having bills!

12.. Hearing myself complain about things I don't like.

13.. Waiting till 8:37 pm Thursday night to get my "Thursday Thirteen" done!

Prayer

Phillippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

While it's not always easy to "not be anxious about anything", especially little Addison's heart surgery, it is such a comfort to know that the Lord can give your heart a peace that will surpass all understanding.

Today we are dealing with a physical heart and one of emotions. God can heal both and for that we give praise and Glory unto Him.

Remember Addison and her family in prayer today (http://inthemidstofit.blogspot.com.)

BooMama's 1st Annual Tour of Homes

I just want to thank BooMama and everyone who participated in the Tour of Homes. It has been so much fun to see the different styles of decorating and even acquired some new ideas for ourselves.
I haven't made it all the way through the tour yet. I'm still amazed at the number of people who shared their homes with us.
Looking forward to the Holiday Tour of Homes!
